Now and dreams we run She spends her days up in the north park, Watching the people as they pass And all she wants is just A little piece of this dream, Is that too much to ask With a safe home, and a warm bed, On a quiet little street All she wants is just that something to Hold onto, that’s all she needs Yeah!
If I could be like that, I would give anything Just to live one day, in those shoes
IC Name: Roberta Emerson Meyer “Becky” PB: Hanna Beth Merjos Age/Birthday: 16 (August 17) Residence: Mission Hill Occupation: Student/Barista at local coffee shop Quick Bio: Mom and Dad were happy, but they were struggling to have kids and though they were trying nothing was working. Mom ended up pregnant at last and their little world was happy but it was short lived because a week after discovering that she was pregnant Dad got the test results back from the fertility tests, he was sterile and yet somehow Mom had become pregnant. He stuck it out with her throughout the entirety of her pregnancy and then when she went into labor two months early he was there at the hospital but not in the delivery room with her, outside waiting. He had submitted to a DNA test and once the baby girl was born and once she had been cleaned up before being put into her incubator they drew blood, she was tested against Dad's blood, he was not a match. He walked out of the hospital.. and out of both girl's lives and was never to return. He disappeared. Mom always blamed herself, hated herself and in turn hated the little girl that she was now stuck with. The divorce was final a month later and though she got the house she could not afford it. Her job as an editor caved when she couldn't meet deadlines and pretty soon she was packing herself and the baby girl up moving them into an apartment on the bad side of town, she drank, she failed at finding work though she was overly qualified for everything and the more her life caved and the more her little girl cried, and the more hospital visits that occurred and bills that accumulated mom drank all the more. Soon she no longer had a job, in fact a drunken image of her mother is the only memory that she has of her mother the years passed and the more her mother drank the more she hit her daughter soon the abuse escalated so badly that social services were called by a school teacher and the courts intervened. The young girl was then sent to live with her grandparents in Lordex, TN and her mother is never allowed to see her only daughter. The life she had of living off of welfare checks and food stamps are over, she now faces jail time.
